This is a unique film in Disney Production’s history. This film is essentially a propaganda film selling Major Alexander de Seversky’s theories about the practical uses of long range strategic bombing. Using a combination of animation humorously telling about the development of air warfare, the film switches to the Major illustrating his ideas could win the war for the allies.

This film adaptation of the ‘Lillian Hellman’ (qv) play depicts a post-Civil War southern community where nothing is more important than money and power to Regina Giddens (‘Bette Davis’ (qv)). In order to join her equally ruthless brothers in a scheme that is sure to gain her wealth and power, she uses her young, naïve daughter to fetch her estranged, ailing husband who is living elsewhere. When she cannot convince her husband to give her the money, she sets forward a cunning plan which escalates.

When Ruby Baker and her brother Rhett are suddenly orphaned by the death of their parents, their parents’ lawyer tells Ruby that they will move in with the Glasses, their former neighbors. They are getting along well with the Glasses and being pampered with new clothes and toys and video games. Suspicions arise when Ruby overhears Terry’s business deals, finds some suspicious letters, and sees Terry and Erin doing mysterious things. She then finds out that maybe all the suspicious actions are connected with her $4 million inheritance.

Scrooge McDuck, along with his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, Webby Vanderquack and dimwitted pilot Launchpad McQuack search for the treasure of Collie Baba and his forty thieves. They find a magic lamp and a genie that can grant them all kinds of wishes. Unfortunately, Merlock the Magician wants that lamp, and he and his sidekick, Dijon the Thief, would do anything to get their hands on it.

A young troubled boy named Pete and his guardian dragon Elliott elude the abusive Gogan family, who all use Pete as a slave instead of a loved child. When Pete can successfully run away from them with his dragon, he stumbles into the town of Passamaquaddy- an ocean front harbor town filled with superstitious fishermen, drunken hooligans and wary townsfolk. Pete’s arrival does not mix well with the citizens, as his dragon Elliott accidentally causes town rioting and gossip among the town drunks about the dragon. Expecting to be an outcast yet again, Pete is taken in by the kind Nora who lives in a lighthouse with her father Lampy. While Pete bonds with Nora and Lampy, the townsfolk have not lowered their guards and suspicions about the dragon. And when Dr. Terminus arrives, a phony con artist posing as a doctor, he sees Elliott the Dragon as the ultimate profit to his fame. With Passamaquaddy filled with superstition, greed and lack of imagination, life will not be easy before the town can ever believe Pete’s dragon.

Disney brings animated versions of 2 literary works to the screen here. The first is ‘The Adventures of Mr. Toad’, based on the characters from Kenneth Grahame’s ‘The Wind in the Willows’. The second is based on Washinton Irving’s masterpiece ‘The Headless Horseman’, in which schoolteacher Ichabod Crane, smitten with Katrina Van Tassel, attends a party hosted by her father. Town thug Brom Bones, who also has his eye on Katrina, tries to intimidate Ichabod with the chilling story of ‘The Headless Horseman’, a ghost of a soldier in the revolutionary war who lost his head in a fight. When Ichabod rides home through Sleepy Hollow late at night, he finds himself confronted by the Headless Horseman who wants Ichabod’s head for himself! Will Ichabod escape the terrifying, sword-wielding ghost….or will the Headless Horseman claim Ichabod’s head for himself?

A family in route to New Guinea is shipwrecked on a deserted tropical island. They are forced to remain on the island because of the damage to the ship and the pirates that are roaming the islands. They create a home on the island (centering around a huge treehouse) and explore the island and it’s wildlife. Plenty of adventure ensues as the family deals with issues of survival, pirates, and the brothers must learn how to live on the island with an uncertain future.

When news of John Smith’s death reaches America, Pocahontas is devastated. She sets off to London with John Rolfe, to meet with the King of England on a diplomatic mission: to create peace and respect between the two great lands. However, Governor Ratcliffe is still around; he wants to return to Jamestown and take over, no matter what the cost. He will stop at nothing to discredit the young princess.

Soon after moving in, Beth, a brainy, beautiful writer damaged from a past relationship encounters Adam, the handsome, but odd, fellow in the downstairs apartment whose awkwardness is perplexing. Beth and Adam’s ultimate connection leads to a tricky relationship that exemplifies something universal: truly reaching another person means bravely stretching into uncomfortable territory and the resulting shake-up can be liberating.

Cody, a boy from Mugwomp Flats responds to a distress call about a trapped giant Golden Eagle called Marahute. Freeing her, he gains a close friendship with the bird. However, Cody is soon abducted by the murderous poacher, Percival McLeach, who is after that bird which is of a highly endangered species and therefore an extremely profitable quarry. In a panic, a mouse Cody freed from one of McLeach’s traps sends a desperate call for help to the Rescue Aid Society in New York City who assigns their top agents, Miss Bianca and Bernard to the task. With transportation provided by the goofy Albatross, Wilbur, the agents arrive in Austrailia and link up with the RAS’ local field operative, Jake The Kangaroo Rat. Together, the trio must race against time to find Cody, stop McLeach and save Marahute.
